Affiliate Disclosure

Some pages on HomeUpgrade.com.au contain links to products and services I recommend. When you click one of those links and buy something, I may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That’s an affiliate link, and it’s how this site pays for itself.

The price you pay is the same. The commission comes from the retailer. It is never added to your order and it never makes a product cheaper or more expensive.

My recommendations are still my own. I choose what to write about, and which retailers to link, based on what actually suits the topic and what I can genuinely stand behind. A commission doesn’t buy a mention. If a product disappoints, that goes in the article too.

A commission never changes my advice. I won’t recommend something because it pays well, and I won’t soften a criticism because the brand is paying.

Prices, stock and warranty terms change. Any price I quote is what I saw when I wrote the piece. Check the retailer’s own site for current pricing, availability and Australian warranty and consumer guarantees.

Buying through a link is entirely optional. Every product I mention links to a product page or the brand’s own site. You’re free to search for it yourself and buy wherever you prefer.

Which links are affiliate links. Affiliate links are marked. You’ll see a note at the top of any article that contains them, and individual links are labelled where it would be helpful. Not every outbound link on this site is an affiliate link — I also link to government advice, product documentation, news articles and other editorial sources. Those are there because they’re useful to you, and I earn nothing from them.

How HomeUpgrade.com.au is funded. The site is run by me, Dean, and funded by affiliate commissions. There are no paid posts, no guest posts selling placement, and no sponsored reviews. If I ever recommend a product I haven’t personally used or tested, I’ll say so plainly in the article.

Editorial independence. Recommendations are made on the basis of fit for the task and my own experience with the product. Where I’ve relied on testing by others — a laboratory, a reviewer, a manufacturer’s own published figures — I’ll name the source rather than present it as my own result.

Questions. If anything on this site seems unclear, or you think I’ve missed a disclosure somewhere, get in touch. I’d rather fix it than argue about it.
